COREY BRANCH: THE PHOTO-OP POLITICIAN

This was Corey Branch's response to a blog post we made last February regarding out of control police calls and incidences of crime at two adjacent motels on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh. For the year 2015, there were approximately 773 police visits.

It appears that when you are appearing for hip photo-ops in other parts of distressed Southeast Raleigh, you don't have much time to do anything other than "looking into it."

As we recounted above there were 773 police visits to the Knights Inn and Microtel on New Bern Avenue/Trawick intersection for 2015.

We decided to update the research for this point from January 1, 2016 to the present. And where do we stand now after WakeUp Raleigh City Councillor has "looked into it"?

With still over two months left in the calendar year this location has  easily surpassed the total for 2015. It stands now at 883 police calls as of October 25, 2016.

We wonder if Councillor Branch will do more for his district than just "looking into this".
